"I did it my way." - Frank Sinatra

How did 5 Gun Nation come to be? I sometimes ask myself how I fell down this rabbit hole. The answer is complicated, but I will give you the Cliffs notes.

When I started competition shooting, my knowledge was limited. Like most people, we had only a bone-stock reloading kit and a rudimentary understanding of using it. I went online or buried myself in books looking for answers.

The information was scattered all over the place. Suppose I wanted to learn a single thing. I spent countless hours staring at my computer screen until my eyes started bleeding, trying to find the answer.

I kept asking myself, “Why isn’t there one place that contains all this information?” Now, after over a decade of experience and being mentored by some of the biggest names in shooting sports, I devised a plan to create an accessible website for all levels of shooting.

Gone are the days of reading an article and saying, “I don’t understand a thing they are talking about.”

It is the goal of 5 Gun Nation to have all the information in one place and be able to find it easily. The future of this sport is the youth. Without them, the castle may crumble.

Don’t get me wrong, when I go to matches. They are well attended, but I feel more comfortable if a more considerable amount of people were involved.

This sport has had such a profound effect on me and everyone around me. I want you to have a shot without the abrupt learning curve. I have spent many sleepless nights figuring out how to flatten that curve.

A lot of exceptional shooters leave the sport primarily due to medical issues. Common issues are blown shoulders, bad hips, or failing eyes. When this happens, their knowledge goes out the door with them. I wanted to preserve as much of that knowledge passed to me for you.

I spent over twenty years working in the music industry and still freelance for a record company. Why does this matter? I took what I learned in the music industry and blended it with competition shooting.

Yes, I am indeed in the final chapter of my shooting career, but that doesn’t mean your story has not just begun. Welcome to the first day of the rest of your life.
